How to Make Pumpkin Prawn Congee

  • Prepare the Ingredients

    To ensure that the rice cooks quickly and absorbs the flavors when making congee, soak the rice for 30 – 45 minutes before cooking.

  • Choose fresh pork that has a pink-red color, do not buy meat that is too white or has dark spots as those could be spoiled meat.
  • Fresh and good pork is firm with high elasticity; you can press your hand on the meat, if it bounces back, it’s good meat, but if it becomes mushy, slimy, and has an unpleasant smell, then it is spoiled meat.

Note: If you do not have time to chop the meat, you can buy minced pork or ground pork available at the market and supermarkets.

How to prepare Minced Shrimp Porridge

  • Preparing ingredients

    First, soak the rice in water for 30 – 45 minutes to soften the rice, so it cooks faster and absorbs the seasoning better.

    First, chop the shrimp finely and marinate the shrimp with 1 tablespoon of seasoning, 1/2 tablespoon of monosodium glutamate, and 1/2 tablespoon of pepper for 15 minutes.

    The meat should also be chopped finely and marinated with 1 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce for 15 minutes.

    Add rice to a pot with 1 liter of water and cook while stirring until the rice swells.
