How to make Crispy Cheese Onion Snack

Cut the onion
After purchasing, peel the onion and slice it horizontally into pieces about 1cm thick, removing both ends, then use your hands to separate the round rings, only using the rings and discarding the core.
Soak the onion in salt water for about 3 minutes, then remove it.
Note: Soaking in salt water will help the onion maintain its whiteness while reducing the pungent smell of the onion. -
Cut the cheese
Remove the cheese and cut it into thin slices for easy eating.

Stuff the cheese with the onion
Place the small onion rings inside the larger rings, then add the cheese in between the two rings.
Note: Ensure the cheese is tightly enclosed by the onion rings so that it does not fall out during frying.
Dip in batter and fry
Take the onion stuffed with cheese, roll it in a layer of flour, then roll it in a layer of egg, followed by another layer of flour and egg, and finally roll it in breadcrumbs. Do similarly until all the prepared onion is used up.
Prepare a pan, add oil, wait for the oil to heat up, then add the onions and deep-fry until golden brown, then remove and place on absorbent paper.

How to Prepare Crispy Spicy Onion Snack

Add 100g of breadcrumbs, 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of oregano leaves into a bowl and mix well.

Bake the onions
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees for 10 minutes. Arrange the breadcrumb-coated onions on a baking tray and then place them in the oven at 200 degrees Celsius for 20 – 25 minutes.
Note: You can deep-fry instead of baking; baking will help the snacks not absorb oil and last longer. Baking will also help you reduce the amount of oil in the food. -
Final product
The baked onions have a beautiful golden-brown color. When eaten, they are crispy with a spicy flavor from the chili, garlic, and pepper combined with the fragrant smell of onion, creating an irresistible snack.
A few notes when making onion snacks:
- Onions should be treated before frying by soaking in salt water or mixing with yogurt to reduce the strong smell.
