How to choose fresh and delicious beef
- When buying beef, carefully observe the color; you should choose the part of the meat that has a bright red color, light yellow fat, fine texture, and fragrant beef smell.
- You should buy meat at reputable stores or supermarkets to ensure the quality of the meat.
- Do not choose meat that has a smell, is slimy, dark-colored, or soft.
How to Prepare Sun-Dried Beef

Prepare the beef
After purchasing the beef, rinse it with diluted salt water, then wash it several times with clean water and let it drain.
Once drained, cut the beef into bite-sized pieces about 1/3 of a finger’s thickness.
How to prepare the beef to remove the fishy smell:- You can soak the beef in vinegar for about 10 minutes, then rinse it with clean water to remove the fishy smell.

Marinate the beef
You put the beef in a bowl to marinate, add 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of pepper, and 1 teaspoon of five-spice powder. Mix well for the meat to absorb the spices for 3 minutes.
Then, you add 3 teaspoons of satay, 1 teaspoon of chili sauce, 1/2 teaspoon of fish sauce, and mix well for 3 minutes.
After that, you add the blended ingredients, mix well for the meat to absorb, and marinate for a minimum of 2 hours.

After the marinating time is sufficient, you place each piece of meat on a tray and dry it directly under the sunlight for 4 – 6 hours. After about 2 to 3 hours, you turn the meat over to ensure it dries evenly.
