How to make Matcha Panna Cotta
-
Soak gelatin
Add 6g of gelatin powder to a bowl and add 20ml of cold water to soak for about 15 minutes.
-
Heat the milk mixture
Add 200ml of unsweetened fresh milk, 150ml of whipping cream, and 40g of sugar into a pot and stir gently.
Place on the stove and heat until the mixture gently boils, using a thermometer to check that the mixture reaches about 80 degrees Celsius before turning off the heat.
Note: Always stir evenly and continuously to prevent the milk from burning.
-
Mix the Matcha panna cotta mixture
Take a small amount of the hot milk mixture and mix it with 5g of matcha powder, then add it to the remaining mixture and stir well to dissolve the matcha powder.
Add the soaked gelatin into the mixture and stir well until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Note:
- You can use a sieve to filter the green tea powder after dissolving for a smoother finish.
- If using gelatin sheets, after soaking them in water, squeeze out the excess and then mix to dissolve.
-

Pour the mixture into the jars or molds that have been prepared.
Place in the refrigerator for 1 – 2 hours before it can be served.
Note: You should sterilize the containers by rinsing them with hot water and letting them dry before adding the panna cotta.
