How to choose good white beans
- You should choose round, plump, shiny beans that are bright in color and uniform in size.
- Avoid choosing shriveled beans, wrinkled skin, dull color, with weevil holes, wilted or soft, damp, or sprouted.
How to choose delicious sticky rice
- To choose good sticky rice, you should select grains that are still fresh, plump, shiny, evenly sized, and have a cloudy white color.
- Moreover, good sticky rice will have a natural, characteristic aroma of rice. In contrast, old sticky rice often loses its scent and will not retain its deliciousness when cooked.
- You should avoid grains that are moldy, have fuzz, or are yellowish. Also, do not choose rice that is too white or has a hollow belly, as it may be rice that has been bleached or milled too finely, causing the outer bran layer to be lost.
