How to Choose Fresh Winter Melon
- Fresh winter melons are large, firm, and have dark green skin. In contrast, overripe melons will have black skin, many seeds inside, and will taste sour.
- Choose melons that feel heavy and firm when picked up. The skin should be hard but can be pressed with a fingernail, and the stem should be thick.
- Avoid buying soft winter melons as they are wilted and no longer fresh for processing.

How to Make Winter Melon Juice Using a Blender
-
Prepare the Ingredients
Peel the outer skin of the winter melon you bought. Next, cut the winter melon in half, rinse briefly with water, then cut it into thin slices about 1/2 finger thickness. Remove the seeds and let it drain.
-
Steam the Winter Melon
Place the prepared winter melon into a steaming pot and steam on high heat for about 3 – 5 minutes until the winter melon is slightly soft.
-
Blend the Winter Melon
Put the steamed winter melon into the blender and blend for 3 – 5 minutes until smooth. After blending, strain the mixture through a sieve and use a spoon to extract the juice, discarding the blended pulp.
