1. Pocket Green Bean Smoothie

Green beans 300 gr Pandan leaves 10 gr Coconut milk 150 ml Condensed milk 100 gr Cornstarch 1 tablespoon Sugar 150 gr Salt 3 gr

Blender, pot, small plastic bags, rubber bands, piping bags or funnels, spoon, bowls …

How to make Green Bean Smoothie

  • Cook the green beans

    Wash the green beans thoroughly, soak them in water for 3 – 4 hours until they soften. Then rinse the beans again, put them in a pot with 1 liter of water, and cook for 40 minutes until the green beans are cooked and evenly expanded, keeping the heat medium-low.

    Tip: At this step, you can use a pressure cooker to help the beans cook faster (about 20 minutes) and become softer!

  • Mix the green beans

    Pour the green beans through a sieve, retaining the cooking water. Place the green beans in a bowl, add 75g of sugar, and mix well.

    Add 3 tablespoons of green beans into the blender and blend until smooth. Remove the blended beans and add them to the whole green beans in the bowl, mixing well.

  • Make the smoothie liquid

    Place a pot on the stove with the retained cooking water from the green beans, keeping the heat medium. Add the pandan leaves and remove them when they turn light green and slightly yellow.

    Put 1 tablespoon of cornstarch into a bowl, add 20ml of water, and stir to dissolve the cornstarch.

    Next, gradually add 150ml of coconut milk, 100g of condensed milk, 75g of sugar, 3g of salt, and the cornstarch water into the pot, stirring continuously until the mixture is dissolved, then turn off the heat.

  • Completion

    Put the mixed mung beans into a piping bag, then place that portion into a small plastic bag with just the right amount.

    Then add enough smoothie liquid to fill about 2/3 of the bag, tightly tie the rubber band so that the liquid doesn’t spill out! Do this step by step until finished.

    Tip: In this step, if you haven’t prepared a piping bag, you can use a small spoon to directly put the mung beans into the smoothie bag!

How to make Green Bean Coconut Milk Smoothie

  • Cook green beans

    Soak 300g of green beans in a bowl for 2 hours in warm water to allow the beans to swell evenly.

    Then, rinse with water several times until clean, then place in a pot, add enough water to cover the beans (about 250ml) and cook on medium-low heat for about 30 minutes until the beans are evenly cooked and soft, then turn off the heat and let cool.

  • Make coconut milk

    Add 200g of grated coconut to a blender with 200ml of warm water, blend until the mixture is smooth. Then use a cloth to filter out the residue to obtain homemade coconut milk.

    Put the cooked green beans into the blender along with 200ml of fresh milk, 20ml of condensed milk, 20ml of sugar syrup, the coconut milk you just made, and ice cubes.

    Use a spoon to stir well and blend the mixture until smooth. You can adjust the sugar amount to suit your taste!

    The green bean smoothie has the creamy taste of beans, the sweetness of milk, and the fragrant richness of coconut milk. This is truly a refreshing and nutritious drink for the whole family during the hot summer!

  • How to choose green beans: you should choose round, even, firm, and shiny beans. Avoid beans that are infested or moldy!
  • How to store green beans: use a tightly sealed bag or food storage container to separate them from air. Store green beans in a cool place, avoiding direct sunlight!
  • For packaged green bean smoothies, you can keep them in the freezer for 2 – 3 weeks. As for the green bean smoothie with coconut milk, you can keep it in the refrigerator and consume it within 24 hours!
