How to make Black Jelly with Coconut Milk

  • Making Black Jelly

    Add 50g of black jelly powder and 50g of sugar into an pot and mix the ingredients well. Then add 1 liter of water, use a whisk to stir thoroughly, and place it on the stove to cook over medium heat until the mixture boils and thickens.

    Note: During the process of cooking the black jelly, you must always stir well to prevent it from burning!

    Once the black jelly is cooked, pour it into a bowl or a plastic food container to cool down, then place it in the refrigerator.

    You should also follow similar steps for making white jelly!

  • Cook coconut milk

    Add 400ml of coconut milk along with 150ml of unsweetened milk, and 50ml of condensed milk into a pot, then stir well and place it on the stove. Cook for about 5 – 10 minutes on medium heat until the mixture gently boils, then you can turn off the heat and take it off the stove!

    Add about 300ml of filtered water and 50gr of sugar into a bowl and stir well. Then add 2 tablespoons of basil seeds and soak until the basil seeds expand and soften.

  • Cooking the jelly

    You put 50g of jelly powder, 100g of sugar into a pot, mix well, then add 1 liter of water and continue to stir until fully dissolved and let the mixture rest for about 25 minutes.

    Next, place the mixture pot on the stove, cook over medium heat until the jelly turns black, boils, and thickens slightly, then turn off the heat.

    Note: While cooking the jelly, you must always stir evenly to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pot or burning.

    After cooking, pour the jelly into a bowl or mold, then place it in the cool compartment of the refrigerator for about 1 hour before enjoying.

  • Cook coconut milk and soak basil seeds

    Add 50g of coconut milk powder into a pot, add 200ml of warm water and stir well to dissolve. Next, pour 110ml of unsweetened fresh milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, and 3 tablespoons of condensed milk into the pot of coconut milk, then stir continuously to mix the ingredients.

    Then, place the pot on the stove and cook over medium heat, making sure to stir continuously while cooking!

    Pour 1 teaspoon of cornstarch and 30ml of water into a bowl, and stir well to dissolve the starch. Wait until the coconut milk pot boils gently, then slowly add the bowl of starch water, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens, then turn off the heat to have a fragrant and creamy pot of coconut milk.

    Soak the basil seeds in warm water or filtered water for about 15 – 20 minutes until they swell!
