How to make Candied Orange Peel

Prepare and boil the orange peel
Wash the oranges, peel off the segments, and keep the orange peel.
Then, use a knife to slice it into bite-sized pieces.
Put water in a pot to boil the orange peel. Boil for 5 – 7 minutes, then drain the water, and continue to add water to boil. Repeat 3 times, until the orange peel loses its bitterness (to a level you can eat).

Sugar-coated Orange Peel
Soak the boiled orange peels in salt water for about 8 hours. After that, take them out to drain, squeeze dry, and put them into a pot.
Add white sugar and honey to the bowl of orange peels and mix well. Marinate the orange peels for about 4 hours until the sugar is completely absorbed.
When the sugar has dissolved, add 300 ml of water and cook on low heat, stirring continuously with chopsticks until the mixture thickens. When you see the sugar starting to crystallize around the pot’s edge, stir faster and turn off the heat.

Drying the Orange Peel
Spread the orange peel jam on a tray and then place it in the oven, drying it at 100 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.
When it cools down a bit, roll it in a layer of sugar, and invite your family to enjoy!
