How to Make Flan for Baby from Breast Milk
-
Separate the egg yolk
First, place the chicken egg into an egg separator and separate the yolk. Then, use a spoon to stir the egg yolk until smooth.
-
Mixing milk and egg yolk
Pour 60ml of breast milk into a pot, then heat it over low heat until it gently boils.
Next, gradually add the heated milk to the eggs while continuously stirring to combine.
Note: Do not stir too vigorously as it will create bubbles, which may cause the cake to have holes when steamed. -
Pouring the Flan mold
Strain the flan mixture through a sieve for a smooth texture, then pour it into a glass jar.
-
Steaming Flan Cake
Place a pot on the stove, arrange the flan jars inside, and pour water until it just covers the jars.
Next, cover the top of the pot with a cloth, close the lid tightly, and steam on low heat for about 20 minutes.
Note: To check if the cake is done, you can use a toothpick to poke into the cake and pull it out. If the toothpick comes out clean, it means the cake is done; if it has a sticky mixture on it, the cake is not done yet.
Tip for steaming without holes: You should not steam the cake at too high a temperature, as this will cause the egg and milk mixture to boil and create holes.
-
Final Product
The flan cake after being fully steamed has no fishy smell, the cake base is soft and smooth, without holes, and extremely nutritious for babies.
