How to make Butterfly Pea Lemon Tea
-
Brewing the tea
First, boil 2 liters of water, then put the green tea into a tea bag. When the water boils, turn off the heat and place the tea bag into the pot of water. Cover and let the tea steep for 30 minutes.
Tip: If you don’t have a tea bag, you can put the tea directly into the pot. After steeping, remove the tea bag (or tea leaves), add 300g of sugar, and stir well until the sugar completely dissolves.
-
Straining butterfly pea water
Dried butterfly pea flowers should be soaked in 400ml of boiling water, covered, and steeped for 20 minutes.
After the butterfly pea flowers have released their color, strain the butterfly pea water through a strainer, discarding the flower remnants and keeping the deep blue-green liquid.
-
Mix lemon tea and finish
Wash the lemons, cut them in half, and squeeze the juice from 7 lemons through a sieve to easily remove the seeds. Slice the remaining 2 lemons for decoration.
When the tea has cooled, add the lemon juice and stir well to make lemon tea.
Once prepared, add ice cubes to 2/3 of a glass and then pour in 150ml of lemon tea. Add 2 slices of lemon and pour 20ml of butterfly pea flower water on top.
You can also garnish with mint leaves and a slice of lemon on top for extra appeal.
