Prepare the ingredients
First, place the rolled oats in a bowl of warm water and soak for about 3 – 4 hours, until the oats swell and soften. This way, the oats will cook faster.
Note: Do not soak the oats for too long as it will make them sour!After buying the sweet potatoes, wash them to remove any dirt and peel them. Then, cut the sweet potatoes into thin slices so they will cook more quickly in the porridge.
Peel the shallots, rinse them briefly with water, and then slice them thinly.
For the chicken breast, wash it with diluted salt water and then rinse it clean with water. Next, chop the chicken finely.
Finally, marinate the minced chicken breast with 1 teaspoon of seasoning, 1 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, and let it sit for about 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Cook sweet potato oatmeal porridge
You place a pot on the stove and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When the oil is hot, add sliced shallots and sauté until fragrant and golden.
Next, add the marinated chicken and stir-fry over medium heat for about 10 minutes, until the chicken is cooked and firm.
Then, add 1 bowl (rice bowl) of water (about 220ml) along with the thinly sliced sweet potatoes into the pot, cover it, and simmer on low heat for about 7-10 minutes until the sweet potatoes are soft.
Continue to add the soaked oats to the pot, season with 1/3 teaspoon of salt, stir well, cover it again, reduce the heat, and cook for about 5-10 minutes until the oats are cooked.
When the water in the pot reduces to less than half, with the remaining water just slightly covering the ingredients, and the sweet potatoes and oats are soft, turn off the heat. You can adjust the seasoning to your taste.
