Ingredients for Making Pomelo Wine For 4 people

Pomelo segments 3 kg Granulated sugar 1 kg (or brown sugar)

Tips for choosing delicious pomelo with thin skin and many segments:

  • Choose pomelos with a tight, shiny outer skin, slightly yellowish in color, evenly round shape, and feel heavy when held in hand; these are good, juicy pomelos with no dry segments.
  • To check if the pomelo skin is thick or thin, lightly tap the skin with your fingertip; if you hear a “pop pop” sound, the pomelo has thick skin, whereas a “clack clack” sound indicates thin skin, which is what you should buy.
  • Observe the bumps on the skin of the pomelo; the larger the bumps, the riper, older, and tastier the pomelo is.
  • For green skin pomelos and Nam Roi pomelos, choose fruits weighing around 1 kg or more, feel firm in hand, and the size should not be too large, with tight, shiny skin, green color but with a golden sheen, and large bumps are signs of good pomelos.

  • Prepare the grapefruit

    The grapefruit you bought, peel it clean, and take the grapefruit segments.

    Note: Avoid leaving the white pith and seeds as they will make the grapefruit wine bitter during the soaking process.
