How to make Nourishing Tea

  • Soak the ingredients

    Put the peach resin into a bowl, add water, and soak for 12 hours. The longan, goji berries, and red dates should be placed in a separate bowl and soaked in water for 15 minutes.

  • Cook the nourishing tea

    You place a pot on the stove, add 1 liter of filtered water, bring to a boil, add 40g of rock sugar, stir well to dissolve the sugar, and maintain medium heat.

    Then, you add the peach resin and bring it to a boil, then add the red dates and simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.

    Next, you add the longan and simmer for 5 minutes, then add the goji berries and wait for it to boil, seasoning to taste for sweetness, then turn off the heat and invite your family to enjoy.

Lotus seeds 25 gr Peach resin 15 gr Snow fungus 15 gr Job’s tears 15 gr Snow mushroom 25 gr Goji berries 10 gr Cordyceps 3 gr Red dates 75 gr Longan 25 gr Chia seeds 15 gr Fresh pandan leaves 100 gr Rock sugar 500 gr Water 4 liters

How to make Nourishing Dessert (recipe shared by a user)

  • Prepare the ingredients

    Soak snow fungus, job’s tears, peach resin, and cordyceps in water for 12 hours before cooking.

    Tip: Since snow fungus expands significantly when soaked, you should use a large bowl to soak the snow fungus!

    Lotus seeds and snow fungus should only be soaked in water for about 2 hours, then removed, washed thoroughly, and drained! Soaking for too long will make them too soft, leading to them breaking apart when cooked, which is not tasty.

    For goji berries, red dates, longan, and pandan leaves, you just need to wash them thoroughly 2 – 3 times with water and let them drain.

    Finally, you boil a pot of water, wait until the water is gently boiling, then add the soaked lotus seeds and simmer on medium heat for about 1 hour until the lotus seeds are soft.

  • Cooking Nourishing Porridge

    To cook nourishing porridge, first, you put a pot on the stove, then add 4 liters of water and boil it on high heat for about 3 minutes until it boils. Then you gradually add 100g of pandan leaves, 25g of lotus seeds, 75g of red dates, 25g of longan, and 3g of cordyceps.

    Stir well and cook for about 20 minutes before adding 500g of rock sugar. While cooking, stir until the sugar dissolves, then add 25g of snow fungus, 15g of barley, and 15g of peach resin.

    Simmer on medium heat for another 4 minutes until the porridge boils, then add 15g of soaked bird’s nest. Cook for another 5 minutes, adjust the seasoning to taste, then turn off the heat and add 15g of chia seeds, stirring well.

What is peach resin? Where to buy peach resin?

  • Peach resin is a white resin that is secreted to self-heal wounds on the peach tree trunk. It then hardens into small amber-colored shapes.
  • Peach resin has become popular due to its benefits for skin nourishment, beauty enhancement, and body cooling. It is often used to cook sweet soup, making cakes, and before use, it should be soaked in water for 10 – 12 hours to soften.
  • You can easily find peach resin at Traditional Medicine establishments, clinics, or reputable e-commerce websites in the market.
  • Depending on the seller, the price may vary, but generally, the price of peach resin usually ranges from 550,000 to 600,000 VND/kg (price updated in June 2021).

What is cordyceps?

  • Cordyceps is a precious herb considered a “hybrid between animals and plants.” It is often found in rugged terrain at altitudes above 4000m above sea level and in extremely harsh weather conditions.
  • Famous for its beauty benefits, body nourishment, anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, and tumor suppression, it is quite expensive.

What is goji berry?

  • Goji berry, also known as monkey’s paw or wolfberry, is commonly used in the cuisine of Asian countries.
  • This fruit, when ripe, has a beautiful red color with a sweet and slightly sour taste. In its dried form, it becomes a medicinal herb in Traditional Medicine, while in powdered or dried form, it enhances the special flavor of dishes.

What is bird’s nest?

  • Bird’s nest is formed from resin extracted from the core of the bird’s nest tree. After soaking, bird’s nest will have a light fragrance and gradually turn into white strands.
  • Currently, you can buy bird’s nest at markets, supermarkets, and specialty herbal stores, as well as on e-commerce platforms, with prices updated as of June 2021, ranging from 120,000 to 150,000 VND/500g.
