Ingredients for Making Yogurt Orange Ice Cream Without Whipping Cream Serves 4 people
Fresh oranges 3 fruits Unsweetened fresh milk 220 ml Condensed milk 50 g Honey 3 teaspoons
Tools: orange juicer, pot, ice cream molds,…
- When choosing oranges, you should buy those with a deep yellow color, thin skin, and smooth surface.
- The orange skin should still be fresh, feel hard to the touch, not soft and mushy. When gently squeezing the orange skin, oil should be released.
- When buying oranges, choose those with stems still attached, feeling firm when touching the stem, hard to break off. The stem may have fresh or wilted leaves but should still be attached to the orange. This indicates the oranges have just been picked from the garden, ensuring freshness.
How to make Yogurt Orange Ice Cream without Whipping Cream
-
Juicing the oranges
Wash the oranges, then cut them in half.
Use a juicer to extract the juice from 3 freshly cut oranges. After that, pour the orange juice into a bowl.
-
Making the orange cream layer
Add 3 teaspoons of honey to the bowl of orange juice and stir until the honey dissolves.
Next, pour this honey orange juice mixture into half of the ice cream mold and place it in the freezer for about 45 minutes.
-
Cooking the milk
Add 220ml of unsweetened fresh milk, 50g of condensed milk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla into a pot, then stir well while cooking on low heat until the mixture lightly boils (around 80 degrees Celsius).
Note: Do not let the milk boil vigorously as it will cause the milk to curdle, form a skin, and lose its quality.
-
Mix the ingredients
Turn off the stove and add 1 jar of yogurt into the pot, stir well until the yogurt dissolves and let it cool.
-
Pour into molds
Take the orange ice cream molds out of the fridge, pour the yogurt mixture into it, and attach the ice cream sticks. Then, place it in the freezer for about 5 – 6 hours before taking it out to enjoy.
-
Final product
If you want to easily remove the ice cream from the molds, take them out and let them sit for about 5 minutes to melt the outer ice layer. The ice cream has a sweet taste of honey, fragrant with orange flavor combined with the creamy yogurt, making it delicious and refreshing. Make this yogurt orange ice cream for the whole family to enjoy!
Tip:
- If you want the ice cream to taste better, buy American oranges, but if you can’t, local oranges will still work.
- You can increase or decrease the amount of honey according to your preference; if you want the ice cream sweeter, add more honey, and if you prefer a slightly sour taste, add less honey.
