How to choose sweet and delicious sweet potatoes

  • Buy sweet potatoes that are intact, not cracked or chipped. When holding the potato, it should feel heavy, firm, and not bruised.
  • Be careful when you see potatoes that have black spots or are pockmarked, as this is a sign that the sweet potatoes have spoiled.
  • Choose sweet potatoes that are round or elongated without any waist, indentations, and when lightly squeezed, they should not be too hard; these potatoes usually have less fiber, more starch, and taste very sweet.
  • Avoid selecting very small, long, or indented potatoes as they will have more fiber.

How to choose fresh and delicious shrimp

  • When buying shrimp, pay attention to the shrimp legs; fresh shrimp will have transparent legs that are firmly attached to the body. If the shrimp legs turn black and loose, it means the shrimp is spoiled and not tasty.
  • Fresh shrimp will have a slightly curved body, firm and taut flesh, flexible and intact shell, and the head of the shrimp firmly attached to the body.
  • Do not buy shrimp with spread-out tails, loose, missing tail fins, and not neatly arranged. This may indicate that the shrimp has been caught for a long time, preserved with harmful substances, making it unappetizing and harmful to health.
