How to Prepare Fried Chicken Wings with Sarsi

  • Prepare and Marinate Chicken

    Rub the chicken wings with salt to reduce the fishy smell and remove dirt, then rinse thoroughly with water.

    After washing the chicken wings, use a knife to cut them into bite-sized pieces and put them in a bowl.

    Next, add 1 tablespoon of garlic water, 2 tablespoons of sarsi soda, and 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder to the bowl, then mix well and marinate the chicken wings for 15 minutes.

    Wash the scallions, then cut them diagonally into pieces about 2cm long.

    Soak the dried chili until soft, rinse with water, then cut diagonally into pieces.

  • Make the sauce

    Put a pan on the stove, add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, and 5 dried chili peppers cut into pieces, then stir-fry until the mixture becomes fragrant.

    Finally, add 8 tablespoons of sarsi syrup, 1 tablespoon of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of Korean chili sauce, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon of seasoning powder to the pan, then stir well until the seasonings are completely dissolved, then turn off the heat.

  • Coat with flour and fry the chicken

    After marinating the chicken wings for 15 minutes, place 1/4 of a pack of crispy frying flour into a bowl and mix well to coat the chicken wings evenly.

    Next, pour the remaining crispy frying flour into another bowl, add 110ml of water, and stir until the mixture is well combined and thick.

    Put a pan on the stove and turn on medium heat, adding 100ml of cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, add the chicken wings and fry for about 15 minutes until they are cooked through and golden brown, then remove them to let the chicken wings drain the oil.

    After purchasing the chicken wings, use salt to rub them, then wash them thoroughly with water.

    Next, cut the chicken wings into 3 parts, only using the first 2 parts of the wing, setting the end part aside.

    Use a knife to cut the tendons around the end bone of the chicken wing, then use your hand to push the meat towards the end of the bone. For the middle part of the chicken wing, there are 2 bones inside, so remember to remove the small bone inside and continue doing the same as before!

    Next, place the chicken wings in a bowl, add 1/2 teaspoon of five-spice powder, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of pepper, and 10ml of white wine.

    Finally, mix well to season the chicken wings and marinate them in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
