Scallops 7 pieces Peanuts 50 gr Green onions 4 tablespoons (chopped) Lemongrass 3 stalks (cut into pieces) Ginger a little (julienned) Salt 1 tablespoon Cooking oil 100 ml

How to cook Grilled scallops with green onion

  • Prepare and boil the scallops

    Soak the scallops in water for about 1 hour to clean them, then take them out to drain.

    Place a pot on the stove, add a little water, 3 stalks of lemongrass cut into pieces, a little julienned ginger, and the cleaned scallops. Cover tightly and boil the scallops until they open.

    Let the scallops cool, then remove part of the shell.

  • Roast peanuts

    Place a pan on the stove, add 50g of peanuts, 1 tablespoon of salt, and roast the peanuts until they are fragrant and cooked.

    Then, use your hands to crush the peanuts to remove the shells.

  • Make onion oil

    Place a pan on the stove, add about 100ml of cooking oil, and heat it.

    Once the oil is hot, add 4 tablespoons of finely chopped green onions, stir well for about 10 seconds, and then turn off the heat.

    Note: Do not stir the green onions for too long as it may burn them.

    Heat the charcoal grill, place the scallops on top and then scoop a little green onion oil and a bit of roasted peanuts into each one.

    Grill the scallops for about 1 minute until the mixture inside starts to boil.

How to Prepare Grilled Scallops with Cheese

  • Prepare the scallops

    Prepare a bowl of water, add some salt and some fresh chili, then soak the scallops for 30 minutes.

    After 30 minutes, rinse the scallops thoroughly with water several times.

    Use a knife to separate the scallop from the shell, then use your hands to take out the scallop’s coral.

    Note: Only take the coral of the scallop and the white meat underneath the scallop.

  • Sautéing scallop meat

    Place a pan on the stove, add the prepared scallops, 1 teaspoon of seasoning, and sauté over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the meat is firm.

  • Baking scallops

    Place on the scallop shell: a bit of sautéed scallops (with a little cooking juice), a bit of boiled pasta, and a bit of mozzarella cheese.

    Then, place the scallops in a glass oven and bake for 5 – 10 minutes at 200 degrees Celsius.

    Note: If you don’t have a glass oven, you can also use a conventional oven or a charcoal stove!

How to choose fresh and delicious scallops

  • Choose scallops with intact shells and no cracks.
  • Prefer scallops with the tongue sticking out, as this indicates they are still alive. Live scallops will naturally open and close their shells.
  • Avoid choosing scallops that have a foul smell, are open but cannot close, as these are dead scallops.

How to clean scallops, removing sand

  • Put fresh scallops in a basin and cover them with water. Cut about 2 – 3 chili peppers, add them to the basin, and let it sit for about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  • After soaking, take the scallops out and rinse them with clean water to finish.
