  • Prepare the bread

    Peel off the crust of the bread, we only use the inner part. Because the crust smells buttery and is crispy, making it into pork skin will be difficult and not tasty.

    After separating the inner part of the bread, use your hands to squeeze it tightly. Dry the bread’s inner part under direct sunlight for 1 – 2 hours until it is dry.

    Note:

    • You must dry the bread’s inner part, because the drier it is, the tastier the pork skin will be and the longer it can be stored.
    • If there is no sunlight, you can dry it using an oven.

    After drying, use your hands to break the bread’s inner part, if it makes a crispy sound, then the bread is dry, at that time you can bring it inside to proceed with making vegetarian pork skin!

  • Make the sweet and salty sauce

    Place another pot on the stove. When the pot is hot, add 1.5 tablespoons of vegan fish sauce, 1 tablespoon of chili sauce, 1.5 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of vegan seasoning, and 1/2 teaspoon of pepper.

    Stir continuously over low heat until the sauce thickens.

    Note: Depending on your taste, you can adjust the amount of seasoning to your liking.

  • Cut the bread

    Wait for the oil to heat up, then add the cut bread, frying until lightly golden.
