How to make vegetarian kho quet with bread

  • Fry the bread

    Cut 2 slices of sandwich bread into small square pieces.

    Place a pan on the stove, add a little cooking oil and wait for the oil to heat (dip the tip of chopsticks into the oil and if you see small bubbles, the oil is hot), add the sandwich bread and fry until golden and crispy.

  • Cook the kho quet

    Place the clay pot on the stove, add a little cooking oil and wait for it to heat, then add chopped green onions and fry until fragrant and slightly golden.

    Next, add 3 tablespoons of vegetarian fish sauce, 3 tablespoons of sugar, 50g of shiitake mushrooms, 2 chili peppers, stir well, and simmer on low heat until thickened.

  • Prepare the ingredients

    Soak the vegetarian ribs in water for about 30 minutes to expand, rinse clean, squeeze out excess water, and then chop into small cubes.

    To mix the dipping sauce, add 5 tablespoons of vegetarian fish sauce, 5 tablespoons of sugar, 1 tablespoon of seasoning powder, 2 teaspoons of vegetarian oyster sauce, 1 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, 1 teaspoon of ground pepper, and 100ml of filtered water into a bowl, then stir to dissolve.
