What is yeast?
- Yeast is an ingredient that helps dough rise during the fermentation process in bread-making. There are 3 types of yeast: fresh yeast, dry yeast, and instant yeast.
- Yeast contains microorganisms that work best at temperatures of 20 – 37 degrees C, and their ability is to release substances that accelerate the fermentation process of the dough.

How to make traditional Bread using a machine and an oven

Mixing and kneading the dough
First, you put 250g of flour, 5g of yeast, 5g of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt into the mixing bowl and knead for 15 minutes at level 3.

Proofing the dough
After kneading, cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it proof for about 60 minutes until the dough doubles in size.

Kneading and shaping the dough
Next, you divide the dough into small pieces, stretch the dough, and knead it evenly. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough into a long piece, then roll it up into a dough piece to shape the bread.
Do the same with the other dough pieces and continue to let the dough rise for another 20 minutes.

Baking the bread
Preheat the oven to 240 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes before putting the bread in.
Use a knife to make a shallow cut from one end to the other on the surface of the dough piece, spray it with water, and then place it in the oven to bake for 15 minutes at 240 degrees Celsius.
After that, take the bread out, spray more water, and put it back in to bake for another 10 minutes at 240 degrees Celsius until the bread is done.
