Ingredients for Japanese-style Chicken Breast Salad For 3 people

Chicken breast 200 gr Green lolo lettuce 50 gr Purple lolo lettuce 50 gr Frisée lettuce 50 gr Red onion 30 gr Red beans 30 gr American corn kernels 30 gr Red radish 30 gr Roasted sesame 5 gr Olive oil 1 tablespoon Japanese Yakiniku Barona seasoning 40 ml Water 15 ml Lemon juice 10 ml Roasted sesame 1 teaspoon

How to choose fresh and delicious chicken breast

  • To prepare a delicious dish, you should choose chicken breast pieces with white skin, as these are from larger chickens which have tastier and firmer meat; younger chickens tend to have softer meat.
  • If you buy skinless chicken breast, observe the fat layer on the chicken meat. You should choose the fat that is white in color, as it will make the meat taste better.
  • Choose pieces of breast with fewer striations in the meat fibers. The more striations there are, the less fat and protein there will be; moreover, these striations will make it harder for the chicken meat to absorb spices and sauces during cooking.

Note: You can buy Japanese grilling spice Barona, canned red beans at spice and grocery stores or on e-commerce sites.

How to prepare Japanese style chicken breast salad

  • Preparing the chicken breast

    You should soak the chicken breast in diluted salt water for about 7 – 10 minutes, gently massaging to clean the meat. After that, wash it thoroughly and cut it into small bite-sized pieces.

  • Frying the chicken breast

    Marinate 200g of chicken breast with 40ml of Japanese grilling spice Yakiniku Barona for 15 minutes.

    Heat a pan over the stove with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. When the oil is hot, add the chicken breast and fry until golden brown. Finally, sprinkle about 5g of toasted sesame seeds and turn off the heat.

  • Prepare other ingredients

    Wash and cut into bite-sized pieces 50g of green lettuce, 50g of purple lettuce, and 50g of fries lettuce.

    Peel and slice the red onion.

    Tip to cut red onion without tearing up and reducing the pungency: Chill the onion in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before cutting. After slicing, place the onion in a bowl of ice water for 10 minutes to lessen its sharp taste.

    Wash 30g of cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. Boil 30g of American corn until cooked. Wash 30g of red radish and slice it.

    Mix the Yakiniku sauce in a small bowl consisting of 40ml of Yakiniku Barona seasoning, 15ml of water, 1 teaspoon of olive oil, 10ml of yellow lemon juice, 1 teaspoon of roasted sesame seeds, and stir well.

  • Mix salad

    Add all the lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes, corn, red radish, and 30g of canned red beans into a bowl. Then drizzle all the salad dressing over and mix well.

    Serve the salad on a plate, place the Japanese-style fried chicken breast on top, and it’s ready to enjoy!
