Rice paper 20 pieces Lime 1 slice Garlic 50 gr (minced) Tây Ninh shrimp salt 50 gr Chili powder 2 tablespoons Cooking oil a little

How to choose, where to buy quality ingredients

For rice paper

  • When buying, you should choose dry rice paper that shows no signs of mold. Good quality rice paper will have a fragrant smell of glutinous rice.
  • To ensure quality, you should buy rice paper from traditional rice paper production places near your home or from reputable supermarkets and grocery stores. Additionally, you can find products at TasteVN supermarket branches or buy online at bachhoaxanh.com.
  • You should not buy rice paper that has an unusual smell, has expired, or shows gray, black, or yellow spots on it. Currently, rice paper is priced around 10,000 – 15,000 VND/100gr (price updated in September 2021).

For Tây Ninh shrimp salt: You can buy Tây Ninh salt at supermarkets, markets, stores selling rice paper, or buy online at bachhoaxanh.com.

How to make Garlic Salt Rice Paper

  • Prepare the ingredients

    First, use scissors to cut the rice paper into small, bite-sized pieces. Place the rice paper into a large bowl for easier mixing of ingredients.

  • Sauté garlic

    Place a pan on the stove, add a little cooking oil to the pan and turn on the stove. Wait until the oil is hot, then add minced garlic to the pan, using chopsticks to stir well so the garlic doesn’t burn.

    Sauté the garlic until it turns golden and fragrant, then turn off the stove and transfer it to a bowl.

    Next, add 2 tablespoons of chili powder to the pan where you just sautéed the garlic, turn on the stove, and continue to sauté for about 1 – 2 minutes to make chili oil.

  • Mix rice paper

    First, add the sautéed garlic to a bowl containing the rice paper, then gradually add 50g of Tây Ninh shrimp salt and chili oil powder into the bowl and use chopsticks to mix the rice paper with the seasonings.

    After that, continue to squeeze 1 slice of lemon into the bowl of mixed rice paper. Wear gloves and mix the mixture until the rice paper absorbs the seasonings.

    After completion, you will have a plate of super delicious garlic salt rice paper, spicy and salty rice paper, fragrant fried garlic, crispy and extremely flavorful, making you want to eat it endlessly.

How to store, storage time for dishes

  • You can store the salted garlic rice paper in zip bags or food storage jars tightly and put them in the cool compartment of the refrigerator or a cool place, avoiding direct sunlight in case you don’t finish it within the day. This method can help you preserve the final product for about 2 days.
  • Avoid placing the rice paper in damp, non-ventilated areas as it will cause the paper to become soggy and taste bad. The best time to enjoy the rice paper is to finish it within 3 – 4 hours after mixing.
