What is cocoa powder? Distinguishing cocoa powder from chocolate powder
- Cocoa powder is a type of powder obtained from the seeds of the cacao fruit through a quite complex process.
- The powder has a dark brown color, fine texture, and a characteristic aroma. Cocoa powder and chocolate powder are two different types of powders that you should pay attention to in order to avoid confusion. Chocolate powder can be black, white, or brown depending on the type, and it also has different sweet and bitter flavors. In contrast, cocoa powder has a distinctive bitter taste, a slight sourness, and is fluffier than chocolate powder.
- You can buy cocoa powder at local markets, TasteVN supermarket chains nationwide, or purchase online at bachhoaxanh.com with prices ranging from 90,000 – 94,000 VND/ 300gr (price updated in March 2022).
