Mix the Dough
Add 350g of flour, 1g of salt, 5g of yeast, 50g of sugar, and 80ml of warm milk (40 degrees Celsius) into a bowl. Use a whisk to mix until the ingredients are well combined and sticky.
Tip:
- Do not add salt directly on top of the yeast, as this will kill the yeast or weaken its activity. You can mix the salt with the flour first, then add the yeast.
- If the dough is dry and not sticky, you can add more milk and mix well.

Knead the bread dough
Use your hands to roughly knead the dough into a ball, then perform the folding and stretching technique.
First, fold the dough over itself, then use the palm of your hand to press and stretch the dough away. Note that you should press and stretch the dough away, not press down. Next, turn the dough ball 90 degrees and repeat the two steps for 10 minutes.
When the dough starts to smooth out, add 30g of butter, then repeat the kneading process for another 10 minutes until the dough forms a uniform, smooth, and elastic ball.

Cover the bowl of dough tightly with plastic wrap, then proof for 45 minutes to 1 hour until the dough doubles in size.

Lightly knead the dough, then shape it into a cylinder.
