How to Make Egg Cookie Cookies
-
Beat the butter
Put 50gr of unsalted butter at room temperature into a mixing bowl, and use a whisk to beat the butter until it is smooth.
-
Mix the butter with other ingredients
Add 30gr of sugar and a pinch of salt into the butter and mix until the salt and sugar dissolve in the butter.
Beat one egg and divide it into three portions. Add each portion to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well with a whisk. The last portion of the egg should be added together with 2ml of vanilla extract, then mix until the mixture is smooth and homogeneous.
Tip: The eggs used should be at room temperature. If taken from the refrigerator, let them cool completely before using for the cookies. -
Mix the flour
Sift 50gr of cake flour and 10gr of almond flour into the butter-egg mixture. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined and form a uniform mixture.
Put the mixed flour into a piping bag and prepare to shape the cookies.
-
Mixing Colors
Take a small amount of the mixed flour, about 10gr, into a bowl. Add a few drops of yellow and orange food coloring to create color, and mix well until the color is fully blended with the flour.
-
Shaping and Baking
Preheat the oven to 170 – 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes to stabilize the temperature.
Begin shaping the prepared white dough into evenly round shapes on a tray, spacing them about 2 – 3cm apart. Then add the yellow dough on top to create the egg yolk. Continue this process until all the prepared dough is used up.
Place the tray in the oven and bake at 160 degrees Celsius for about 13 – 15 minutes, regularly checking the color of the cookies. When the edges turn golden brown, they are done.
Tip: You can use a macaron baking tray for more uniform-sized cookies. -
Final Product
The cookies are small, egg-shaped, with a bright brown color that catches the eye. When you bite into the cookie, it is crispy and the rich buttery aroma spreads, making you want to eat more.
The cookies can be used as gifts, snacks, but they are most suitable for enjoying during tea time and chatting.
- Ingredients such as butter and eggs taken out of the refrigerator must be allowed to cool completely at room temperature before baking the cookies.
- Once baked, the cookies can be placed in a sealed jar or zip bag and stored in a cool place to maintain their crispiness for a longer time.
