What is all-purpose flour? Where to buy reputable all-purpose flour

  • All-purpose flour (or flour No. 11) is a type of flour with a high protein content of about 11.5 – 12% and is commonly used for making chewy types of bread like bread, pillow cake, or pizza. The high protein content in the flour will work well with yeast to create the chewiness of the bread when finished.
  • You can easily find all-purpose flour at grocery stores, supermarkets, TasteVN stores, or buy online at the website bachhoaxanh.com.

What is cocoa powder? Where to buy cocoa powder?

  • Cocoa powder is a type of powder made from the seeds of the cacao fruit. The powder is dark brown, with a strong aroma and a bittersweet, nutty flavor.
  • There are 2 types of cocoa powder on the market: instant and pure. Depending on personal preference and intended use, users can choose the type of powder that suits them.
  • You can buy cocoa powder of good quality at food stores, reputable supermarket systems on the market, or at TasteVN stores.

Tips for successful execution

  • Using pure unsweetened cocoa powder will enhance the flavor of the cake; avoid using milk chocolate cocoa or sweetened Milo powder.
  • It is advisable to use unsalted butter for a rich aroma in the cake, and not to use margarine. When preparing, the butter should be softened at room temperature but not melted.
  • Avoid placing the cakes close together, as they will expand and stick to each other while baking.
  • Each oven has different temperature discrepancies. You can improve baking results by using an oven thermometer or regularly checking the cakes to adjust the temperature, baking time, and suitable baking tray.
  • You should follow the recipe ratios to ensure the cakes are crispy and delicious.
  • To store the cakes, let them cool completely and place them in a bag or sealed box. Additionally, keep the cakes in dry, cool places and avoid damp areas.
