How to Make Japanese Teriyaki Sauce

Mix the Ingredients
Add the mixture for the teriyaki sauce including: 20ml soy sauce, 110gr brown sugar into a bowl and stir until dissolved.
Then add 7.5gr minced ginger, 5gr minced garlic, 15ml honey, 15ml sesame oil, and 45ml Mirin into the bowl and mix well.

Pour the teriyaki sauce mixture into a pot and bring to a boil. Once the teriyaki sauce is boiling, reduce the heat and simmer for about 4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
Remove the pot from the stove and let the teriyaki sauce cool to complete the process.

Prepare chicken
The chicken breast you bought should be skinned, washed with water, then rubbed evenly with salt on the breast piece, and washed again with clean water to eliminate the fishy smell. Let it drain or use a clean towel to dry.
Then, cut the chicken breast into square pieces about 2 – 3 cm thick.
Tip to prepare chicken breast without a fishy smell:
- After rubbing with salt, you can use a mixture of wine and sliced ginger, crush it and rub it all over the breast piece again to help eliminate the fishy smell and dirt. Wash clean and let it drain.
