How to make Bánh Chị – Bình Dương specialty

  • Prepare the ingredients

    First, soak 20g of dried shrimp in warm water for 10 minutes to soften the shrimp. Then, drain the water and crush the dried shrimp to mix with the flour.

    Next, prepare a large bowl, and gradually add the ingredients including 2 cups of tapioca flour, 1/2 cup of chopped green onions, crushed dried shrimp, and then add 1/2 cup of boiling water to the flour and mix well until the ingredients are combined into a smooth dough.

    After the dough has been kneaded into a mass, divide the dough into portions according to serving size and shape them into decorations that you want to make the cake look more appealing.

    Put a pan on the gas stove on low heat, add cooking oil to 1/2 of the pan so that the cake is deep-fried to cook evenly on both sides. Wait for the oil to heat up, then add the cakes to fry each side for about 2 minutes. Note that you should not fry the cakes for too long as they will become dry.
