A truly “sweet” gift to give to teachers on the upcoming holiday of November 20th is those flower bouquets made from candy that are incredibly unique and can last a long time. Let’s join the Cooking Tips section of TasteVN to learn the secret of creating these “fancy” candy bouquets right away!
1 Ingredients and Tools
For the ingredients, you should choose to buy types of candy in stick or bar form, as they will be easier to wrap (about 4 – 5 bags). Buy an additional 2 – 3 branches of white baby’s breath flowers to create a highlight for the bouquet. Finally, you will need wrapping paper (optional) and ribbon or string for decoration.
Next is the list of tools including a wooden stick, tape, scissors, a glue gun, and sturdy cardboard to get started on completing the bouquet.
2 Steps to Prepare Before Wrapping
First, you need to shape the bouquet beforehand so that wrapping will be easier and save time. Arrange the candy bars in a pyramid shape on the cardboard.
Next, use the glue gun to fix each candy stick onto the wooden sticks. Then stack them on top of each other (about 3 – 4 stacks) and secure them, trimming the cardboard into a triangle shape similar to the candy bouquet. That completes the base.
Now, simply use the string to wrap around the wooden sticks to cover the glue for aesthetic purposes. Additionally, to make the bouquet more beautiful, after finishing the candy base layer, you can secure the branches of white baby’s breath flowers at the front.
For the wrapping paper, you cut the wrapping paper in half along the crease of the sheet. Then continue to cut the wrapping paper in half into 2 equal rectangles. Keep doing this until you run out of wrapping paper, arranging these sheets so that they can alternate with each other with contrasting colors to create an eye-catching effect.
3 How to wrap flowers with candy
To wrap the flowers with candy, you fold each sheet of wrapping paper inward about 2.5cm, folding slightly diagonally and avoid pressing the paper because that will lose the puffiness of the wrapping paper.
For each sheet of paper, you will fold the left crease and the right crease inward (as shown below) and then use tape to secure the middle crease.
Finally, you place each of these sheets around the flower bouquet, using tape to secure each layer of paper. Keep taping in this way until you completely wrap the bouquet.
You wrap in 2 layers with 2 different styles and colors of paper to make the bouquet more eye-catching, noting that the inner layer of paper will be slightly lower than the outer layer of paper. Then secure everything with glue, tie with a ribbon, and your flower bouquet is complete.
