  • You should choose small and tender pieces of meat, smooth texture, and they should bounce back well when pressed.
  • Do not buy beef that is pale green or dark red, with dark yellow fat, white spots on the meat, and a mushy or slimy feel when touched.

  • Fresh and delicious cabbage will have a shiny color and a round shape. You should not buy heads that are flat or oval-shaped as these are hollow cabbages, not firm.
  • You should choose cabbages that are slightly darker green; if they are purple cabbages, they must be deep purple and choose those that feel heavy and firm.
  • Avoid choosing cabbages that have black-brown spots on the stem or are bruised, as these are cabbages that have been stored for a long time and are no longer crunchy and fresh.

How to prepare Beef Cabbage Soup

  • Prepare and marinate the beef

    After buying the beef, rinse it with clean water. To eliminate the smell of the beef, take 1 piece of ginger, crush it, and rub it all over the piece of meat, leaving it for about 2 minutes.

    Then, rinse the meat with diluted salt water and then rinse with clean water. Marinate the meat with 1/2 tablespoon of seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, minced garlic, and let it sit for about 30 minutes to absorb the spices.

    • Method 1: Roast 1 piece of ginger until cooked, scrape off the charred outer layer, then pound the ginger and rub it on the beef, holding it for about 3 minutes before rinsing with clean water.
