How to choose fresh and delicious veal

  • Fresh and delicious veal will have a bright red color, fine meat fibers, and a light yellow layer of fat.
  • Good veal will have a good elasticity when you press your hand on the meat, it should not feel cold, and it has a slightly distinctive smell when you sniff it.
  • It is best to buy veal in larger pieces instead of small pre-cut ones to ensure the meat quality is still fresh.
  • To cook a delicious hot pot dish, you should choose veal that has both lean meat and fat, along with some skin for preparation!
  • Do not buy veal that is discolored, slimy, with skin that does not adhere tightly to the meat, as well as having a foul smell and bumps on the surface of the meat.

Where to buy fermented soybean paste?

  • You can find fermented soybean paste at stores specializing in Northern spices and foods, or buy it at large supermarkets, Northern markets, or you can also purchase it online at reputable e-commerce sites on the market.
  • You can also make fermented soybean paste at home following the recipe suggested by TasteVN to ensure better quality.
