  • It is advisable to choose pineapples that are slightly round, short fruit, with large eyes, and a sweet, pleasant aroma that is not too strong.

How to prepare Tuna Noodles

  • Prepare the ingredients

    Wash the tomatoes and cut them into wedges. Peel the pineapple and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Crush 2 stalks of lemongrass and then cut them in half.

    Pour out all the liquid from the tuna can. Place the fish meat on a plate.

    Quick way to peel pineapple

    • Step 1: Cut off both ends of the pineapple, then stand it upright and use a knife to peel off the outer skin.
    • Step 2: Identify the diagonal directions (based on the eyes of the pineapple), tilt the knife, and make cuts on both sides of the straight line between the eyes (similar to forming a V shape) to remove the eyes of the pineapple.
    • Step 3: Do the same with other diagonal directions until you have removed all the eyes of the pineapple.

    Add 1 tablespoon of red oil into the pot, when the oil is hot, add shallots and sauté until fragrant. When the shallots turn golden and fragrant, add lemongrass and continue to fry.

  • Prepare the broth

    When the tomatoes are completely soft, add 1.5 liters of chicken broth to the pot and cover it.

    When the broth starts to boil, add the pineapple to the pot. Then season with 2 tablespoons of salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar. You can adjust the seasoning to fit your taste.

    After seasoning to your liking, wait until the broth is boiling vigorously before adding the canned fish. Be careful not to stir too hard as it will break the fish meat. Continue to boil.

    Finally, after the broth has boiled for a few more minutes, add the remaining tomatoes and a little chopped green onion to the pot.

    A bowl of canned tuna noodles is served with noodles, fish, a few slices of pineapple along with tomatoes and green onions, making it very eye-catching. The fish is flavorful, and the broth is delicious with a sweet and sour refreshing taste.
