Shrimp should have their heads removed, shells peeled off, and the back deveined, then wash clean and chop finely.
After that, marinate the shrimp with 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder, 1/2 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Mix well and let it sit for about 20 minutes for the shrimp to absorb the spices.

Soak dried seaweed in 1 liter of water for about 15 minutes to expand, then rinse and drain.
Remove the roots from the green onions, wash them, and chop them finely.
-
Cook the soup
Place a pot on the stove, add 1/2 tablespoon of cooking oil into the pot. When the oil is hot, add the marinated shrimp and sauté for about 2 minutes until the shrimp is firm.
Once the shrimp is sautéed, add 1 liter of water to the pot and bring it to a boil. When the water is boiling, skim off the foam, and season with 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 tablespoon of seasoning powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate.
Next, add all of the seaweed, increase the heat, and boil for another 3 minutes. Once the seaweed is cooked, taste and adjust the seasoning as needed, then turn off the heat.
Scoop the soup into a bowl, sprinkle with chopped green onions and ground pepper for extra appeal, and it’s done.

How to peel and quickly clean shrimp veins
- First, use your hands to break off the shrimp’s head.
- Next, use your hands to peel the shrimp’s shell from the belly first, then around the body. For the shell at the tail, grip the shrimp’s tail firmly and pull it back.
- To remove the shrimp vein, use a knife to make a cut along the shrimp’s back to expose the vein, then use a knife or a sharp bamboo stick to hook the shrimp vein. At this step, be careful not to break the shrimp vein.
