How to make the Cake gift for teachers
-
Mixing chocolate cake batter
First, add 200gr of pre-mixed chocolate sponge cake flour into a bowl, about 50ml of water, and stir well until you achieve a smooth, thick mixture.
Next, add 2 teaspoons of cooking oil and continue to stir well.
Tip: If the mixture is still dry, you can add more water. However, add the water gradually to avoid making the batter too watery! -
Baking the cake
Brush a layer of cooking oil into the mold, then evenly coat it with a layer of dry flour to prevent sticking. Next, pour the cake batter into the mold and gently tap the mold on the table to spread the batter evenly.
Then, place a thick-bottomed pot on the stove, add a rack inside (or aluminum or iron supports) and place the cake mold on top. After that, cover with a lid and bake the cake for 10 minutes over high heat.
After 10 minutes, reduce the heat to low and continue baking for another 25 minutes.
Tip: To check if the cake is done, use a toothpick to poke the center of the cake. If the toothpick comes out dry and does not stick to any batter, it is done. -
Whipping the cream
Pour 480ml of whipping cream and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract into a bowl. Use a hand mixer to beat until the cream forms stiff peaks, and the beaters create a standing peak.
Divide the whipped cream into 2 equal parts, one part for covering the cake, and the other part mixed with food coloring: yellow, red, orange, gray, brown, green for decoration.
-
Covering the cake with cream
Use a knife to cut the cake into 3 equal thickness pieces and start covering it with cream.
First, use a brush to apply a little fresh water on the first cake piece to create moisture. Then, add a little whipped cream, a bit of chocolate syrup, and use a spatula to smooth out this cream.
Next, sprinkle some chocolate chips on top of the cream. Repeat the same layering process with the second cake piece. When you reach the third cake piece, cover the entire cake with whipped cream.
-
Decoration
Finally, use the whipped cream that has been colored to create patterns around the cake as well as to draw details like books, rulers, chalkboards,…
Depending on the subjects taught by the teachers, you can flexibly replace them with symbols or images related to those subjects.
