What is Gelatin? Where to Buy Gelatin
- Gelatin is derived from collagen, which exists in the skin and bones of animals, such as pigskin. It is a flavorless, odorless protein that can be transparent or slightly yellow in color.
- Gelatin comes in two forms: powdered gelatin and sheet gelatin. It is a common ingredient in baking, making jelly, and gummy candies. Gelatin helps the final product set quickly and binds other ingredients to stabilize the structure of cakes and jelly, making them soft.
- You can find gelatin in baking supply stores, large supermarkets, or on e-commerce websites.
