How to make Cheese Yogurt using a Rice Cooker

  • Mash cheese with condensed milk

    You prepare a large bowl, add 4 pieces of Laughing Cow cheese into the bowl, and use a spoon to mash the cheese. Then, you add 1 can of condensed milk into the cheese bowl and stir the mixture well.

    Next, you add 700ml of hot water into the cheese condensed milk mixture, stirring continuously so that the cheese and condensed milk mixture dissolves completely without clumping.

  • Mix the yogurt mixture

    Next, you pour 2 packs of sweetened fresh milk into the bowl with the above mixture and stir in one direction so that the fresh milk blends into the condensed milk and cheese.

    Finally, you wait for the milk mixture to cool down a bit before adding 4 cups of sweetened yogurt and gently stir to complete.

  • Ferment yogurt

    You put the yogurt mixture into small plastic bags or glass jars and tie them tightly.

    Next, you arrange all the prepared yogurt in the rice cooker, pour in 250ml of filtered water and 500ml of hot water (about 60 degrees Celsius), then close the lid of the pot and let it sit to ferment for about 6 – 8 hours.

    After that, you take the fermented yogurt out and put it in the freezer, cover it with a small towel for about 12 hours before you can enjoy it.

    Thus, the yogurt cheese using rice cooker is complete, with a characteristic milky white color, very thick and smooth, the rich flavor of cheese and the sweet-sour taste blend perfectly, providing a delightful experience that the whole family will love.

Tips for successful yogurt making and storage

  • The starter yogurt should be left at room temperature before adding it to the milk. Stir in one direction only; the more evenly you stir, the smoother and tastier the yogurt will be.
  • You should not add yogurt to the milk mixture when it is still too hot. The lactic acid bacteria in yogurt work optimally at temperatures around 43 – 45 degrees Celsius. Therefore, if you add it when the milk mixture is too hot, it will kill the bacteria and cause your final product to separate.
  • During the fermentation process, you should not move the pot, as this will cause uneven fermentation.
  • Once the yogurt is made, you can store it in the freezer for about 5 – 7 days.
