Chicken liver 300 gr Smoked bacon 100 gr Unsalted butter 100 gr Unsweetened fresh milk 50 ml Diced onion 1 bulb Apple 1 fruit Apple juice 100 ml Minced garlic 1 tablespoon Minced shallot 1 tablespoon Salt 2 teaspoons Sugar 1 teaspoon Seasoning powder 1 teaspoon Pepper 1 teaspoon

How to make chicken liver pâté using a rice cooker

  • Marinate milk with chicken liver

    300g of chicken liver is cleaned and chopped. Pour unsweetened fresh milk into the liver to detoxify and remove bitterness. Wrap it up and place it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

  • Melt the unsalted butter

    Place a pot on the electric stove, select the simmer setting. Add 50g of unsalted butter to the pot to melt, add 1 tablespoon of finely chopped shallots, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 diced onion, then sauté until fragrant.

    After that, rinse the chicken liver with clean water, then add it to the pot and stir well.

  • Cook the liver mixture

    Peel 1 New Zealand apple, cut it into pieces, and add it to the pot. Add 100ml of apple juice (use canned apple juice). Then add 50ml of unsweetened fresh milk.

    Season with 2 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder, and 1 teaspoon of pepper. Finally, add 100g of chopped bacon to the pot and stir well.

  • Blend the liver mixture

    Simmer until the liquid is slightly reduced, then turn off the heat. Let the liver cool down a bit, then use a blender or a blender to puree the ingredients in the pot. Pour the chicken liver mixture into a heat-resistant tray.

    Method 1: Bake the pate using a water bath in the oven

    Preheat the oven to 175 degrees Celsius, turning on both heating elements 10 minutes beforehand. Place the liver pate in the oven, pour boiling water into the tray, close the oven door, and set the timer for 45 – 50 minutes.

    Method 2: Steam the pate using a rice cooker

    Using a rice cooker is also a simple way to make liver pate. Pour water into the rice cooker to fill ⅓ of the pot, and press the Cook button. Wait for the water to boil, then place the liver pate in the steaming basket for 40 to 50 minutes.

  • Completion

    After the cooking time is up, take the pate out to cool. Melt 50g of unsalted butter in the microwave on Medium Low power for 1 minute. Drizzle the melted butter over the pate to preserve it longer. The delicious chicken liver pate is now ready.

    The pate can be stored in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days and can last for 30 days if kept in the freezer.
