How to choose fresh and delicious cantaloupe
- Skin: has clear raised veins, green color. Avoid choosing fruits with veins that are turning brown or have chips.
- Weight: if you choose fruits to keep for a few days, select those that are a bit heavy; if buying to enjoy immediately, choose fruits that are of moderate weight or slightly light.
- Aroma: a good cantaloupe will have a mild fragrant smell. If it has an unpleasant smell, do not buy those fruits.
- Sound: hold the cantaloupe close to your ear and shake it gently. If you hear a light sound inside the cantaloupe, it is ripe and can be enjoyed immediately.

How to make Cantaloupe Jelly
-
Prepare and blend the cantaloupe
Take the cantaloupe you bought, cut it in half with a knife, remove the seeds, and then use a spoon to scoop out the flesh of the cantaloupe.
Note: Since the rind of the cantaloupe will be used to hold the jelly, be gentle when scooping out the flesh to avoid breaking the rind!
Then, put the cantaloupe flesh into the blender and blend until smooth.
Finally, strain the blended cantaloupe through a sieve, discarding the solid parts.

Mix the melon and jelly mixture
Add 1 liter of water to the bowl of melon and stir well.
In another bowl, mix 15g of jelly powder with 30g of sugar, then add them to the bowl of melon water and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Tip: Depending on your family’s preference for sweetness, you can increase or decrease the amount of sugar!
-
Cook the jelly, pour the jelly into the melon shell
Pour the melon water mixture into a pot, cook over medium heat, stirring frequently to prevent the jelly from clumping. Cook for about 5 minutes until boiling, then wait for about 2-3 more minutes before turning off the heat!
Wait for about 2 minutes for the jelly mixture to cool down a bit, then slowly pour it into the melon shell.
Tip: To prevent the jelly from clumping and forming air bubbles, you should pour the jelly mixture into the melon shell slowly!
Next, let the jelly cool completely, then place the melon in the fridge for about 1-3 hours.
Take the melon jelly out, use a knife to cut it into wedges, and enjoy!
