How to Make Cold Brew Coffee
-
Grind coffee beans
Use a seed blender (or a coffee grinder is even better) to grind the amount of coffee beans purchased. Do not grind too finely!
-
Brewing
Alternately add cold water and coffee to the brewing jar, then gently stir with a stick to ensure the water evenly soaks into the coffee grounds.
Note: For every 50 grams of coffee grounds, soak with 500ml of cold water.
-
Steep the coffee
You use a piece of cloth or a clean towel to cover the mouth of the jar, soaking the coffee in cold water for about 12 – 24 hours, depending on the flavor you want to achieve.
Note: The longer you soak the coffee grounds in cold water, the more extraction from the coffee occurs, and more natural acidity is produced.
-
Strain
After the time of soaking the coffee to get the desired flavor, you use a filter cloth (or filter fabric) to strain the coffee grounds to get the coffee liquid for enjoyment.
-
Final product
Depending on the type of coffee, the Cold Brew coffee extracted has a very interesting natural acidity, reminiscent of fruity aromas, like orange or wild strawberry scents. To enjoy the true flavor of Cold Brew coffee, you should drink it right after filtering the coffee, served with some ice.
In addition, you can mix in some other ingredients like sugar or fresh milk according to your preference.
