How to Make Cream Puff Cookies

  • Whip butter with sugar

    Add 125g of unsalted butter and 80g of sugar into a bowl, then use a mixer to whip the butter.

    After that, add 1 egg and continue to mix until well combined.

    Tip:

    • The butter should be softened at room temperature; press it with your hand to ensure it’s soft enough but not melted or watery.
    • Make sure to whip the butter well because the rise and fluffiness of the cookies depend on the air bubbles in the whipped butter.

  • Mix the cookie dough

    Add 120g of flour, 2g of salt, and a little vanilla extract into the bowl with butter, then mix until the dough is combined and forms a ball.

    Flatten the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours.

  • Shape the button flower

    Divide the dough into several parts, then roll them into balls and flatten them.

    Use a bottle cap to cut the dough, then use a smaller round mold to press and create an inner border.

    Next, use a small straw to make 2 small holes to resemble button flower shapes.

    Repeat until all the remaining dough is used up.

  • Bake the cookies

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

    Prepare a baking tray lined with parchment paper, then arrange the cookies on it and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes until they turn golden brown.
