How to choose fresh and delicious turkey
- A single serving usually requires 350g of turkey meat, so depending on the number of people in your family, you should choose a turkey with an appropriate weight in kg. For example, for 6 people, you should choose a turkey weighing about 2kg.
- For fried turkey dishes, it is advisable to choose a smaller-sized turkey to make frying easier.
- Fresh and delicious turkey with firm meat typically comes from younger birds, the fewer months old, the better. To achieve the best flavor for today’s dish, you should select a turkey that is under 4 months old.
- Most turkeys are pre-packaged, so when purchasing, be sure to check the expiration date of the product and whether the packaging is torn or not!
- Currently, you can easily find them in supermarkets or stores that specialize in imported goods.
Required tools
How to prepare Crispy Fried Turkey
-
Prepping the turkey
First, with 1 turkey that you purchased, rub some salt all over the surface of the meat for 3 – 5 minutes, while removing any leftover blood inside, then rinse it several times with water until clean, and let it drain.
Effective ways to eliminate turkey odor
-
Marinating the turkey
Next, you put 100g of unsalted butter into a bowl, and place it in the microwave to heat for about 1 minute. When the butter has melted, you turn off the microwave, take the bowl out, and add 2 tablespoons of chili sauce, using a spoon to mix it well.
Then, you take a syringe and fill it with the melted butter mixture, then inject it evenly into the entire turkey meat. Continue doing this until all the butter is used up.
-
Frying the turkey
Once you have prepared the ingredients, place a deep pot on the stove with 5 liters of cooking oil and heat it over medium heat. When the oil is hot (around 300 – 350 degrees Celsius), turn off the stove.
To avoid the oil boiling too much and causing burns, slowly lower the marinated turkey that has been skewered into the oil. When the turkey is submerged in the oil, turn the stove back on and fry on low heat for about 45 – 60 minutes.
Once the turkey is cooked evenly and the skin is golden and crispy, turn off the stove, take it out onto a plate, and enjoy!
Tip: If you don’t have a deep pot, you can fry it in a regular pan, but make sure to turn it continuously so the skin becomes golden and crispy. -
Final product
Crispy fried turkey with the strong aroma of butter is truly enticing. In addition, the golden, crispy skin along with the spicy, firm meat will surely make this holiday very meaningful!
