Tips for selecting good soybeans:
- Good soybeans will have an ivory white color, bright, uniform color, and shiny skin. The beans should be plump, round, of similar size, firm when squeezed, not mushy, not broken, and not soft.
- The bean shells should not have cracks, sprouted, or be infested by pests.
- The beans should have a light, fragrant aroma, with a rich smell.
How to store roasted soybeans:
- After roasting the soybeans, wait for them to cool completely, then place them in a clean, dry glass jar, add a moisture-absorbing packet, and seal the lid tightly.
- Each time you use them, take out just the right amount to avoid exposing the beans too much to air. The storage time can last up to 6 months.
How to store unused soybeans:
Use a tightly sealed, clean, dry glass jar, place a layer of dry lime powder at the bottom, then spread a layer of dried neem leaves before pouring the beans on top. After that, cover with another layer of neem leaves, seal the lid tightly, and store in a dry, cool place.
