Coconut rice paper 100 g Dried beef 50 g Green onions 50 g Fried onions 50 g Quail eggs 20 eggs Liver pâté 50 g Black dried beef sauce 50 ml Satay chili 40 g Calamondin juice 30 ml Salt 1/2 teaspoon White sugar 4 teaspoons Dried chili 5 g

How to Make Da Nang Grilled Rice Paper

  • Make Satay Beef Sauce

    Turn on the stove to low heat, add 50ml of black dry beef sauce, 40g of satay chili, 30ml of kumquat juice, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 4 teaspoons of sugar, and 5g of dried chili into the pan, then stir well. Wait until the mixture boils, then turn off the heat.

    Fried onions can be bought ready-made or made at home.

    The way to fry onions is very simple; you just need to peel the purple onions, slice them small, then deep-fry them until golden and fragrant, then remove them to drain.

    For green onions, wash them clean and chop finely.

    Cut the coconut rice paper into triangles.

    Tips for Crispy Fried Onions: Use a small deep pot or pan, add plenty of oil and heat it, add the fried onions and stir gently for even golden color. Fry the onions over medium heat, do not turn the heat too high to avoid burning the onions. Divide into small batches if you have a large quantity of onions.

    Method 1:

    Place a piece of coconut rice paper on the grill, use a spoon to spread a little cooking oil on the surface of the rice paper, then sprinkle finely chopped green onions, fried onions, and dried beef.

    Crack 2 quail eggs onto the rice paper, then use tongs to rotate the rice paper until it is evenly cooked. Grill the rice paper for 1 – 2 minutes until it is golden and crispy.

    Method 2:

    Use a spoon to spread pork liver paste on the surface of the coconut rice paper, then place the rice paper on the grill. Then sprinkle more green onions and fried onions on top.

    Use tongs to rotate it evenly so that the rice paper cooks without burning and becomes crispy; use chopsticks with tongs to roll the rice paper.

    The crispy and fragrant flavor of the coconut rice paper combined with the filling of dried beef, quail eggs, or pork liver paste will enhance the dish’s taste and make it unique. Dipping it in a spicy and sour sauce will make it even more amazing.
