All-purpose flour 320 gr Green beans 200 gr ( shelled) Cooking oil 120 ml Sugar 160 gr Salt 1/2 teaspoon Water 150 ml

How to Make Green Bean Filled Dumplings

  • Mix the dough

    Add 320g of all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1/3 teaspoon of salt, 4 tablespoons of cooking oil, mix well with 100ml of warm water and stir evenly.

    Wear gloves and knead the dough until it forms a smooth and flexible mass. After the dough is smooth and elastic, let it rest for 30 minutes.

  • Cook and mash mung beans

    Boil the mung beans for 20 minutes until cooked. While the mung beans are still hot, add a little salt, a bit of cooking oil, and a teaspoon of sugar, then mix well, mash until smooth to make the filling.

  • Sauté mung bean filling

    Put the filling into a pan and set the heat to low, stirring constantly until the mung bean filling dries out. Finally, roll into small balls.

    Tip: The sautéed filling should be very soft, smooth, and sticky. But at the same time, it should also be dry, not sticky to the hands, and have a certain “firmness”.

  • Shape the dumplings

    Divide the fermented dough into several small pieces and roll the dough out to about 5mm thick, then cut into round pieces.

    Place the mung bean filling in the center and pinch the two ends of the dumpling together. Use a fork to crimp the edges to shape them.

  • Baking the dumpling

    Preheat the oven for about 10 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius. Then bake the dumplings in the oven at 150 degrees for 15 minutes.

    Tip: To make the dumpling skin more appealing, you can brush it with a layer of honey or egg yolk.
