Prepare the ingredients
After purchasing the beef, rinse it briefly with water, then boil it with green onions and ginger for about 2 – 3 minutes. Once boiled, remove the beef, rinse it clean, and then use a knife to slice it into cubes.

Sauté and Braise the Beef
First, place a non-stick pan on the gas stove, then add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. When the oil is hot, add ginger, garlic, and peeled shallots to sauté until fragrant.
Next, add the prepared beef into the pan, stirring evenly for about 2 – 3 minutes.
After the beef has browned, season with 3 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1/4 of a cardamom pod, 1/2 star anise flower, 1/2 teaspoon of whole pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon of dried chili into the pan. Stir well for about 2 minutes, then add 500ml of filtered water and cook until boiling.
When the water in the pan has boiled, use a ladle to remove the foam, then transfer all the sautéed beef into the braising pot. Braise the beef over medium heat for about 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes of simmering, transfer the beef to a pot, then add the prepared radish and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes.
