  • Mix the cake batter

    Add 2 egg yolks, 500ml of unsweetened fresh milk, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 50gr of cornstarch into a bowl. Use a whisk to mix until the mixture is well combined, and the flour and sugar are dissolved.

  • Heat and cool the cake mixture

    Next, filter the cake batter into a pot. Then, add 2 slices of cheese and stir well over medium-low heat until the mixture thickens.

    Spread the cake mixture evenly into a mold, let it cool, then cover tightly with plastic wrap. Next, place the cake in the refrigerator for 3 hours.

    Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes.

    Invert the mold and take the cake out, then use a knife to cut it into 8 equal pieces (cut in a cross shape and then cut 2 diagonal lines).

    Next, place the cake on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Then, beat 1 egg yolk and brush it evenly over the cake, baking for 15 – 20 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.

  • You can use sweetened or unsweetened yogurt depending on your preference and the desired sweetness.
  • You should buy types of yogurt in containers that have a thick and creamy consistency instead of using drinking yogurt which is more liquid!

  • Mix the yogurt mixture

    Add 400gr of sweetened yogurt (or unsweetened) and 4 chicken eggs into a bowl. Use a whisk to mix thoroughly until the mixture is well combined.

  • Sift and mix cornstarch with yogurt mixture

    Sift 40gr of cornstarch into the yogurt mixture and continue to stir until smooth.

    Preheat the oven to 170 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes.

    Spread a thin layer of cooking oil in the mold, then line it with a layer of parchment paper. Next, pour the cake batter into it and bake at 170 degrees Celsius for 35 – 50 minutes (depending on the oven).

    Tip:

    • To check if the cake is done, you can poke a toothpick in the center of the cake; if it comes out dry, the cake is cooked. Conversely, if the toothpick has sticky batter, it needs more baking.
    • After baking, let the cake cool down a bit, then chill in the refrigerator for 1 – 2 hours before enjoying.
