Ingredients for Stir-Fried Squid with Broccoli For 3 people

Squid 500 gr Broccoli 400 gr (1 small head) Red onion 3 bulbs Green onion 2 stalks Cooking oil 2 tablespoons Chili powder 1/2 teaspoon Common seasoning a little (salt/ pepper/ sugar/ monosodium glutamate/ seasoning powder)

  • When buying squid, choose those that have bright colors, glossy surfaces, and when the squid moves, it reflects light clearly. Looking at the brown part, it should be dark and contrast with the milky white color.
  • Additionally, fresh squid should feel firm and elastic when pressed. The squid’s eyes should be clear, not bulging, and the pupils, body, and tentacles should be firmly attached.
  • Avoid buying squid that is discolored, soft, where the tentacles and body separate easily, or squid with cloudy eyes and leaking fluid, as it is not fresh and not tasty.

  • Marinate the squid

    Put the squid into a bowl, mix well with 3 sliced shallots, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of seasoning powder, 1 teaspoon of monosodium glutamate, and 1/2 teaspoon of ground pepper. Marinate for about 15 minutes to allow the squid to absorb the spices.

  • Stir-fry squid with broccoli

    Heat a pan on the stove, add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil and heat it up, then add the broccoli and stir-fry on low heat for about 5 minutes.

    Note: If you’re worried that the broccoli might be too dry, add 50ml of water while stir-frying to prevent it from burning.

    Next, add the marinated squid and stir well, seasoning to taste. Stir-fry for about 10 minutes until the squid turns pink and the broccoli is tender-crisp, then turn off the stove, add chopped green onions and 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder (if you want it spicy) to finish.
