How to Make Green Tea Mochi Dipped in Milk Cream
-
Mix the Dough
First, add all the flour, cornstarch, 33g of sugar, and 1g of salt into a bowl.
Next, pour in 100 ml of milk and use the whisk to mix the ingredients thoroughly.
After mixing the flour and milk, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap, making sure to poke a few small holes to allow steam to escape.
Tip: If you want the glutinous rice flour to be more fragrant, you should add a little vanilla essence before mixing the dough or use flavored glutinous rice flour for a better aroma than regular glutinous rice flour. -
Cooking the dough
After covering the dough with plastic wrap and creating air holes, place the bowl of dough in the microwave, set the temperature to medium-high for 3 minutes.
Wait until the microwave indicates it’s done, take the bowl out, mix well, and put it back in the microwave for another 3 minutes.
Next, add 5g of unsalted butter and mix for 15 minutes until the butter is completely melted.

Shape the mochi
The dough, after being mixed well with unsalted butter, will have a light fragrant smell. You use your hands to shape the dough into small round balls about 2 – 4 cm in size.
Then roll them in the green tea powder from the prepared Lipton package.
Note: To replace the pure green tea powder that has a slightly bitter taste, you should use the Lipton 3 in 1 green tea package. This package contains sugar and milk powder, so when eaten, it will have a sweet and creamy taste without the bitterness of pure green tea. -
Add a mixture of 100 ml whipping cream, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and a pinch of salt into a tightly sealed jar.
A small note is that you should use a glass jar, chill the jar in the refrigerator before adding the mixture, and remember to choose a jar of just the right size so that when adding the cream, it fills only about half of the jar. Then use chopsticks to stir until the sugar dissolves, cover it, and shake vigorously for 10 minutes until the cream mixture thickens, and it is complete.
For the Oreo cookies you bought, separate the cream and keep the cookie shells in a plastic bag. Use a rolling pin to gently crush them to make cookie crumbs for dipping along with green tea mochi and milk cream.
