Final Product
After completing the above steps, you now have a dish of fried quail eggs in salty, sweet, and slightly spicy fish sauce to serve the family. You can garnish with some peanuts, scallion oil, and a little Vietnamese balm to make the dish even more appealing.
How to choose fresh quail eggs
- When buying quail eggs, you should try to shine a light through the eggs; if the quail eggs are fresh, there will be little space at the top, and the inside of the egg will be clear, allowing you to see the egg inside.
- Fresh, quality quail eggs will have a slightly rough outer shell, and there will be a white powder on the outside; when held, they will feel heavy.
- Shake the egg gently; if you don’t hear the sound of movement inside, it indicates that this is a fresh egg.
- Avoid choosing eggs that smell rotten or foul, and if shaking the egg feels loose and sloshing, it is an old egg that should not be purchased.
Small tips to enhance the appeal of the dish
- Quail eggs are small, so you only need to boil them for a short time over low heat, which will cook them quickly without breaking during boiling.
- If you can’t handle spicy food, limit the addition of chili powder and adjust the seasoning to suit your taste!
